My Character is My Own

I can do what nobody else can because I am me

I am an individual and free of mind

Free to make my own decisions; to choose; to try;

to fail; to succeed

It’s not always easy being me

But as long as I seek to improve what I can

and never sacrifice the good in me to please others

I will always be able to conquer adversity

I must realize and accept that some things I cannot control

While at the same time there are many things that I can

I will not be controlled by the uncontrollable

I will be pleased of the things that I am not

And proud of all that I am

I am me because that is exactly what I want to be
