I Walk On
Forward thinking,
Backward talk,
Silent musing
On a lonely walk,
Contradictions
Lead the way,
Wreaking havoc
On this lovely day,
Small ironies overfill
The cracks in the street,
And shattered ego’s
Crunch beneath my feet,
Smug arrogance
Pollutes
My once pure air,
And there’s nothing in sight
To conflate or to share,
And obstacles
Drift and sway
In the wind,
Waiting to fall
On the path I intend,
And ,yet,I walk on,
Head held high,
For blessings from heaven
Will rain from the sky.
