RE:I never said people should flock to anyone's poetry. I said an anonymous system would be more fair, because regardless of the number of friends you had, your poetry would be rated purely on merit. It's a simple concept that's simple to understand. No name on poem = no friends can vote you winner. Period, end of story, and that's all folks. Why is this lost on anyone???? |

RE: RE:Well I think you all are great and I am sure you will figure out a good system we can all be proud of. Sorry I am not much of the type to help solve such problems that are not for me to decide, so I voiced my little feelings and now I am going back to the video about the plight of the wolves of today to finish..........Peace and Love to all.....asha Quote:

I know people with 200, 300, 500, over 1000, and even a couple with over 10,000 friends but they still get few reviews, this is not soley the answer. Better to keep a limited number of good friends that you know than many friends that you do not. Just because you have large number of friends doesn't mean you will get your poetry read. Angel out |

RE:I shall call no one no such thing. I have only just been here for a short, short time, but I can tell you are well loved and your writing intrigues me to want to ask you things! |

RE:The only opinion here that matters is Papa's. It's his website and his decision to change anything about it BUT, as far as I'm concerned....It's a great website! There is a poetry school with incredible teachers who share their time FOR FREE to all who care to learn the elements and mechanics of poetry FOR FREE! I love it! |

RE:edwin- I was not singling out certain memebers, just responding to thier comments in particular. If you did your homework you would know I have commented and made my own suggestions for what they are worth, several times. I was not saying that there were not some great suggestions made, opposite excatly, just that many of the posts were getting way off subject and just turning into a whinning and bitching party, that was all. All the negativity gets old, i have been following this thread since the begining and before it was here, this is exactly the second run at the same topic by my count, the last got too out of hand, so papa started a new one from scratch. As for moving this discussion to a new forum, I was not suggesting that at all. I was only offering constuctive critism, which many people around here have a hard time taking, not trying to start any fights, actually two of the people I was responding to are my friends. They knew what I meant. if people want to come here and make suggestions, have constrctive critism, than that is what the post was for, but too many just come here whinning and complaining with no fix or solution. That was simply my point. Purity of the soul, journey well!!! with grace and humility ANGEL |

Sour grapes make sour whine....oops!.... sour wine. Did anyone else notice Word's great suggestion earlier? Let the OP staff decide who gets published....."yes" or "no".....that would totally eliminate the popularity issue...all you have to do is say you allow your poem to be published in OP's book or not. Simple. Easy. Great idea, John E Wordslinger!!!! Aria, thanks (BIG THANKS) for noticing a peaceful solution. You and Kah did, Pac man all ready knows. Peace Sells But Who's Buying???... One day we all may wake up, and this site may vanish. One day we all may wake up, and we are all published. In the mean time as for me, I'll always be John E WordsSlinger Big Smile, always |
