For Jack
I see your pain through iron walls,
Your shields stand strong in the face of pain.
But I your friend, see your tears when they fall,
You wonder what your tears stand to gain.
Your past is your past don’t change who you are,
God made man in his own image they said.
I’ll stand with you through near or far,
But sometimes you must give way to red.
Express your pain don’t hold it in,
Be proud and love who you were born to love.
I’ll wipe the pain from your skin,
Accept yourself and your life from above.
For I’ll be there whomever you choose,
Your lusts and desire holds no shame for me.
Don’t be scared although love may bruise,
Hold tightly to my hand I won’t let you flee.
To me you are the bravest of men,
But Love yourself first, before any other.
Breathe deeply, and count to ten,
For I will be there always my soul brother.
Alone, in sadness is no way to live,
Happiness can seem the simplest thing.
Embrace friendship and the love we can give,
I believe in you and the joy we can bring.
So bring down your shields, cast away your sadness,
That can take away your endless smile,
For that path leads only to madness
For I would linger there too for a while.
I’ll be your hand, your strength, your power,
I’ll be your shoulder to cry on,
I’ll be there when your sadness showers,
I’ll be there with a smile when your pain is gone.
