    Destiny

    Take the pictures,
    Of the night.
    Then compare them,
    To the light.

    After death,
    Will we still live.
    Even after,
    All we had to give.

    But do we not know,
    That everyone dies.
    Even with love,
    We meet our demise.

    Can we save,
    Our mortal soul.
    To get away,
    From destiny's pull.

    Just this once,
    I'll let it go.
    And then we can,
    Go with the flow.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
