Awake and Dreaming
So tired I'm hallucinating
My heart is quickly palpitating
Wanted to get to sleep pretty soon
So many distractions, sitting here in my room
I wish that I could be awake forever
There's so much that I'm missing but it's for the better
Being half alive is the eventual result
Of cutting half of my sleeping time off
All of my memories I keep in this vault
that play again and again, re-sorting my thoughts
I wish that I could sleep forever
Experiencing all of my unreal pleasures
Dreaming is what I'm talking about
I say what I want, in whispers and shouts
It's really no different from being awake
Except that my actions put nothing at stake
If I could decide where I wanted to be
Maybe I would sleep better, permanently
My heart is quickly palpitating
Wanted to get to sleep pretty soon
So many distractions, sitting here in my room
I wish that I could be awake forever
There's so much that I'm missing but it's for the better
Being half alive is the eventual result
Of cutting half of my sleeping time off
All of my memories I keep in this vault
that play again and again, re-sorting my thoughts
I wish that I could sleep forever
Experiencing all of my unreal pleasures
Dreaming is what I'm talking about
I say what I want, in whispers and shouts
It's really no different from being awake
Except that my actions put nothing at stake
If I could decide where I wanted to be
Maybe I would sleep better, permanently
