An Ode to Beauty

An Ode to Beauty

Like Keat's 'Ode to a Grecian Urn' I salute your beauty, your symmetry and grace

Beauty Moist and fresh as early morning dew on spring flowers,

A crown of auburn that catches the light and swirls and shapes a comely face,

Lips whose softness and redness combine the ripe strawberry with the petals of the cherry blossom,

A smile that begins in the eyes and gently caresses the beholder,

A lilting laugh, like crystal bells in the wind,

Intelligence gracefully molded into the design, framed by round, supple limbs,

The Supreme Architect's dream born in you.

You made a tiny mistake... Yeats did not write "Ode to a Grecian Urn", it was Keats [ John Keats]

Big difference between Y and a K! and between the poets, check our yeat's A Rose uoon the Rood of Time, thanks

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
