Poem Commentary

Found this one in a very old notebook I forgot to throw out. About a girl that broke up with me last summer, and she sucked. I'm very glad I've moved on from her and now have a girl I am happy with and honored to call my one and only.

Your latest reaction.

Can you tell me what it feels like?
taking everything you can get, and giving me the poison
You get me every time

but if the call board is overran
due to the appeal that is at hand
I'll be the first to go, the first to know
I know you wish I was just something more...

My best was the worst when you really compared
I see how your eyes gaze and in my midst you just stare
How could I ever measure up to be satisfaction
when everything you want, is everything that I'm not, and,
I am only a distraction

I don't have the look of the other guys
the ones that always catch your eye, and,
I'm not as charming as the lucky ones
Who can actually make you feel like you are the only one

I'm on my knees because of how you look at me,
please just lay it out and tell me there's no doubt that...

My best was the worst when you really compared
I'm just what you settled with and Your fantasies are still there...

Thank you very much Girlygirl I hope to share my writing with the world and it's people like you that I love because you encourage me to keep going.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
