Debut (A Short Production)

(Curtain lifts revealing a boy in a chair)

The Boy: "Take a good hard look at me.
I know these words are all you see,
I don't wanna hear it
I know what I look like,but,
let my wrists tell you the real sight."

(Girl enters the scene, attracted to the boy)

The Girl: "Hey, Boy, you seem to be depressed,
if not then you're just suppressed, by,
the pressure and the mess,
of this life you have dressed, because it makes no sense."

The Boy: "I'm a monster, please stay away
I'll turn your brightest days to grey.
Without your asking or my intent,
I'll ruin you, and you'll lament
of the seconds you have wasted
giving a chance to a boy that is forsaken."

(Girl looking innocent tries to comfort the boy)

The Boy: "Just look at my wrists!
Look at my wrists!!
You'll leave once you know I'm like this.
Take your leave my dear,
stay too much longer and your reputation may hear,
knowing this now, you have a fear,
leave me and loneliness to be near...

(Girl leaves, disgusted and cautious of who may see,
that she was with this twisted boy,
leaving him, crying without a voice)

Yes, I know all too well. It takes away your ability to think clearly and love other people.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
