You...I...?
I could have been anything
Why am I nothing
When I was small and the world so large
How did I manage to step into the only hole
That separated me from them
I could have been you,
You who is reading this out of enjoyment
in the pain of others
Or you,
Who are reading this and thinking
You are not near as lost as I am
I might have been you
You who reads this dark lullaby over and over
Allowing my voice to encase your soul
I could have been you
Who feels this is too dangerous for anyone to hear
Or you
You who feels the need to live others lives for them
Perhaps I might have been you
You who never made it past the first line
To hear who I might be
Maybe you
You who hides me in sweet silent guilty pleasure
When others are around
Or you
Who proudly claims to know what was spoken here
I am all of you
I am none of you
If you saw me on the street would you know me?
If I were lost in a crowd, could you find me?
If I were in your mirror who would you see
Me or you
I am all
I am none
Why am I nothing
When I was small and the world so large
How did I manage to step into the only hole
That separated me from them
I could have been you,
You who is reading this out of enjoyment
in the pain of others
Or you,
Who are reading this and thinking
You are not near as lost as I am
I might have been you
You who reads this dark lullaby over and over
Allowing my voice to encase your soul
I could have been you
Who feels this is too dangerous for anyone to hear
Or you
You who feels the need to live others lives for them
Perhaps I might have been you
You who never made it past the first line
To hear who I might be
Maybe you
You who hides me in sweet silent guilty pleasure
When others are around
Or you
Who proudly claims to know what was spoken here
I am all of you
I am none of you
If you saw me on the street would you know me?
If I were lost in a crowd, could you find me?
If I were in your mirror who would you see
Me or you
I am all
I am none
