You Promised
On the heal of his brother Esau,
Jacob came out holding on.
For the vision and dreams that he saw.
Despite the lot that he'd been drawn.
Will we show true repentance
And reap a harvest this coming year.
Or will it be a decade of decadence
All who have ears let them hear.
Jacob received his fathers inheritance,
A motley collection of blessings to be exact.
For wisdom is proved right by action.
That's how faith is kept intact.
And when in doubt shout it out to your Father who does here you.
"You promised" you'd be there for me,
And you'll find that He's always near you.
