tumbleweed rolls windswept streets---as snakes and cactus re-claim the land--faded signs swing in the breeze---remembering pioneer courage and pain---shining rails and singing gangs---buffalo killed on the plains---the gold rush ---and children on the reservation---death of the frontier---birth of a nationwestern dream
