The Light

The Light

One deep dark hole that swallows my soul and tears crying out for help
Lost in this feeling that seems to be stealing my being and sense of self.
Wanting to run and never look back; yet feeling vulnerable and under attack
from the life I knew that was so lonely & bleu that does'nt go away
So I run once more to an open door hoping to see the light
I hit my knees and beg you please Lord listen to me
Lift me away from all of this pain and let the sunshine through the rain
Hold me tightly in you arms, keeping me away from all of the harm
Then you spoke to me; my child you are forever in my sight
Look to me I am the way and the light

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
