    Poem Commentary

    This one isn't a song, though it has a few elements that could be used as a base to write a song from... It's just a sweet little poem I wrote thinking of someone special at the time...

    The Gift Of You
    By D Jackson

    I told myself
    Id never fall in love again
    All those many empty roads
    in search of one best friend
    Then one day I looked upon
    the sweetest face of you
    And suddenly it happened
    my dream had just came true

    You made my heart remember
    what it’s like to feel again
    That tingle way down deep inside
    I never want to end
    And, if the hands of time did ever stop
    I pray I’d be
    In your arms, and holding you
    while you are holding me

    My heart soars like an eagle
    upon the winds up high
    Every time I’m near you
    a tear of joy I cry
    A little piece of heaven
    I know I’ve finally found
    To walk a hundred miles with you
    I never touch the ground

    That first time shared together
    We met the morning sunrise
    I’d never seen such beauty
    as the love there in your eyes
    They could take away all the breath I have
    left upon this place
    I’d go away content to know
    that miracle on your face

    I love you because you make me
    more than I could be
    Stronger when you hold me
    My life feels so complete
    If there ever was a reason
    to say a grateful prayer
    it’d be for sharing love with you
    and, knowing that you're there…

    Awe, thank you so much Ginga... I wrote this one a long time ago and I know the general romantic theme is nothing new, but the sentiments are timeless... I appreciate the read... Doug

    TO love someone is like unpolish diamond, you accept them of truly who they are, we look beyond perfection,since the heart has the way of showing us, all that we need from each other.

    Thank you so much Pony... Every person who comes into our life is a gift; of some sort... For be they good or be they not so good; we will gain from them knowledge and therefore, wisdom; and, together they help shape our own lives... Hopefully for the better...

    Once again you have done it to me,lol. Do I just need to tell you my life story?, sometimes I cant find the words to express my very deep and strong feeling because of their intensity but you have done so and know nothing of me and I thank you once again
