The Fox Who Became a Human Girl
The injured lil fox who became a girl...
Even today after all this time has passed I can still see Makoto's face as if it were yesterday.......
I remembered certain rumours that had to be impossible and least in any way.....
A clearing beyond the woods it was believed the animals living there possed a special sort of majic........
Often I would explore and play untill I happend upon an injured lil fox one day......
I took her home to nurse her back to health though my aunte may not have aproved...
Though I was careful and warey with stealth,In all matters still,I felt she knew.....
Whenever Makato(I've since started calling her by that name) heard the bells my aunte wore in her hair....
She knew aunte left for the day and that she could come out freely and play and lay on me as I teased her with a bell.....
Word came I would be leaveing soon to live with my auntes younger sis to start my high school classes and hope to do well
Makato always seemed to be aware. But,it was just beyound her understanding why I was leaveing soon.....
I knew she would never understand my leaveing. The look in her eyes was ( Why are you leaveing me)
My aunte I was to stay with was my mothers youngeest sister. Her will insisted I move in and finish the rest of school in the city .....
The aunte I was to go and live with had a daughter,my cousin I had known since childhood and for the most part we were close....
After I got settled in ok,for some reason this neko(kitty)started hanging around then disapear......
Though it had been a while since I returned,my cousin felt I knew my way roundI guess enough.....
One evening my aunte asked if I would pick up a few items for supper,I wanted to be helpful any way I could....
After I finished shopping, all of a sudden a girl uncloacked and with her best effort tried to attack me!.....
Even so,I easaly fended her off and she fainted and I carried her back home....
My aunte said," I don't think I order that for supper" (my aunte has a pecular sence of humour).....
I wasent sure how my aunte would react but,she was very calm and put her out a futon on which to lay......
After many times trying to wake her,I mentioned food and she sprang to life!.....
What a sight but,she didn't seem to have any memory other than her hostilites towards me...
My aunte let her stay until we could find out who she was and where her parents were......
It was strange how we took to calling her" Makoto" .I was never aware but,my aunte knew exactly who she was......
There was this girl at school romoured to also know my situation and surpiseingly knew of my delima.....
I could tell it was painful for her to tell me which left me concerned as well as confused....
After she fully explained what had happend,I fully understood though I was totaly mystified!....
The same thing happend to her and told me how special the animals that lived on the hill were....
She told me the cold hard truth, the girl in my aunte's house is the same fox I left so long ago.....
Makoto knowingly sacrificed everything to become a human girl to see me again but,her memory was slow commimg...
She told me I'm in the midst of a small mirical and to treasure it for as long it lasts for it's not ment to last long....
Makoto finaly remembered me and we played on that clearing beyound the woods as long as we could...
As evening drew one day,she said she loved me and wanted to marry me and be with me forever and ever.....
All I could find was an inpromptu viel and a bracelet of bells which was all she wanted me to buy her....
After our lil imprompto seromony,we talked and she said again she wanted to be with me forever and ever.....
She was becomming more tired as the days passed.I rested her head on my lap for a while as the evening sun set....
I guess it was on that evening as if by majic, she had totaly disapeared!!All that was left was the viel and bracelet of bells.....
Makoto, you'll always be with me forever and ever............
