The Cure
Pain-induced banter muffled the moan,
heat expelled madly, scorched skin and bone.
From master of self to victimized sire,
with absence of will to not feed the fire.
Pondering choice, indulging the need,
receding further yet lacking death’s greed.
To hamper the beast with unbridled will
gives cause for the beast to succumb for its thrill,
and shadow all footsteps, a life to infest,
with self-undone folly and merciless test.
Summon the genius that renders the cure,
summon the genius that whispers, "endure."
