Stapled
So much fell apart.
I swept up the pieces.
Ironed it all,
Flattened the creases.
The glue wouldn’t hold,
And the tape it was cheap.
So I stapled it together,
The life belonging to me.
Hoping it would hold,
Still trying not to bend.
Slipping through the cracks,
Holding onto my friends.
Can’t by a new life,
I must improvise.
Stapled me up,
Fixed all the lies.
Hoping it’s strong,
That it will forever hold.
What lies in this chest,
A broken heart made of gold.
The glue wouldn’t hold,
And the tape it was cheap.
So I stapled together,
The life belonging to me.
I swept up the pieces.
Ironed it all,
Flattened the creases.
The glue wouldn’t hold,
And the tape it was cheap.
So I stapled it together,
The life belonging to me.
Hoping it would hold,
Still trying not to bend.
Slipping through the cracks,
Holding onto my friends.
Can’t by a new life,
I must improvise.
Stapled me up,
Fixed all the lies.
Hoping it’s strong,
That it will forever hold.
What lies in this chest,
A broken heart made of gold.
The glue wouldn’t hold,
And the tape it was cheap.
So I stapled together,
The life belonging to me.
