SPARROW, SPARROW, WILD
Sparrow in the treehidden behind the leaves
swing with me, it's summer.
Red Breasted Robin
has nothing on you.
Sparrow, sparrow, wild
you're the one who stays
the winter long
while the robin is south
long gone.
When the wind in
icy blasts
threatens to take hold of
you fast
think protected there
in the evergreen
with its long thick needles
cozy inside if you can find
in time.
Sparrow, sparrow, wild
together you're a band of brothers
a circle of sisters.
You may not feel highly valued
but God counts your
every feather
lest you lose one
He'll supply another, forever
