Recovery
Rain, rain, come today
pain away
stain away
Thump, thump, goes my heart
jump start
lumps start
Rain, rain, from my eyes
painful lies
useless lies
Stop, stop, went my heart
dropped part
my poor heart
Recovery
Rain, rain, come today
pain away
stain away
Thump, thump, goes my heart
jump start
lumps start
Rain, rain, from my eyes
painful lies
useless lies
Stop, stop, went my heart
dropped part
my poor heart
If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
