IN MEMORY

When Life on Earth stops
for a Loved One 'moved on',
Our pain is so great-
but their battle is won.

We think of the moments
we shared with such joy-
And wish we had said things
before they were gone.

But We know in Our heaarts,
wherever They are-
That on any bright night,
in the glow of a star,
They send us Their Love-
whether here or afar.

And time marches on
toward our linking of souls-
When We share Heaven's space
as Our ultimate goal.

And now as We grieve
for a passing of time,
We'll remember Our Loved Ones
and the days that were fine.

God's taken Them from Us,
for a purpose He knows-
And They'll be His light,
in all stars that glow.

Their souls will be present
in new eyes so bright,
Which he sends down to greet Us
in a new dawning light.

For Souls get passed on,
in New Life that God brings-
And for memory of Loved Ones,
our hearts will still sing.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
