A SACRED PEACE

A SACRED PEACE

So left alone within the night,
I saw a vision
Through darkness' light;
The Vision lingered on a limb,
For me to wonder,
Was it HIM?

And as I lay there hearing sounds,
I listened closely to all around;
The peacefulness had made me weep,
And cradled me so
I could sleep.

When I awoke the dawn was near,
The birds all sang
So I could hear;
The crickets which had long since gone
Had left me joy which
Made me strong.

I hadn't been alone that night
With darkened visions
Through some small light;
That which I saw with so much ease
Was truly HIM who
Gave me PEACE.

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
