I TOLD POETRY
POETRY I ARGUED WITH YOU MOSTLY THE ENTIRE NIGHTYOU AND ME JUST COULD NOT GET IT RIGHT.
YOU WANTED AN APOSTROPHE
AND I SAID, "no!"
BUT THEN YOU KEPT NAGGING ME
AND I FINALLY LET IT GO.
POETRY, I DO LOVE YOU
WHEN YOU COME TO ME SOFTYLY AND NICE
BUT WHEN YOU WANT YOUR OWN WAY
YOU CAN BE COLD AS ICE.
I HEAR YOUR LETTERS AND WORDS
RUBMBLING IN MY MIND
I JOT THEM DOWN REAL QUICKLY
AND NEVER MISS A LINE.
BUT LATELY YOU AND ME
HAVE HAD SOME TRYING TIMES
YOU WAKE ME UP AT MIDNIGHT
BECAUSE OF A STUPID RHYME.
I NEED YOU EVERYDAY
AND THAT CANNOT BE DENIED.
BUT POETRY I MUST TELL YOU
SOMETIMES YOU MAKE ME CRY.
