Forgotten
Three young girls paraded holding flowers.
She with Dad in hand walked down the aisle.
A blockade of my view, flashing towers
I look away, my lips can't part a smile.
Bo is there to take her away from him.
One sings "Sun Rise, Sun Set" deep from her lungs.
A white candle blows out, a warning hymn.
So I sat back and bit a bitter tongue.
Congratulations! in line and order
Floundering forced embraces and kisses
Lost in a church built of stone and mortar?
Tears in my eyes, to the bells I listen.
Tables full of food, but no wedding cake.
Losing a friend who wasn't mine to take.
