constant
no butterflies on rainy days.
the rainbow's quaint inverted smile
can paint the sky for just a while.
it never fails to baffle me
how scenes so lovely swiftly flee,
how starry nights can miss the moon;
why blooming flowers wither soon.
existing in uncertainty,
they can't completely conquer me.
the splendor and the charm they wear
change as the seasons of the year.
i haven't seen one that defies
unfailing beauty to my eyes -
one that could last the whole year through.
