an ode to my friends

an ode to my friends

All may seem different
Things may have changed
But let us not forget
You are all my friends indeed
All of you have given me
A piece of treasure
Of something that I will always keep
This treasure is our memories
So let us never forget
Even if one is to pass away
Let us take a look back
Of all the happy things
I thank those of you
Who have made me happy
Even when we graduate
I will always remember you

We never forget the friends of our youth. I know I still cherish each one today, as they found a permanet place in my heart. Great poem!

Memories of friends may fade or even get rusty, but rarely die, unlike the friends they were born of. I have had quite a few friends die while I grew up and their memory lives on after 40 years. A great presentation of the warmth of friendship and the simple treasure of memory! Thanks for sharing!

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
