A timeless gift life
You nearly embraced me deathBut i wasn't ready yet
Although it was out of my hands
I still fought for one last chance
My life at this point
Could best be compared
To the sands of the hourglass
Nearing the end
Nine months of continuous hell
Without any hope
Till my mother took me in
To Beth Israel Hospital
The moment of truth
Had finally arrived
Was I on my way in
Or on my way out
There he sat on a stool
In an examining room
Dr Silen we asked
Come in i've been waiting for you
Without further delay
He asked me my name
He asked me my story
They are all quite the same
He opened his ears
Opened his eyes
This man seem to know
What i was talking about
He heard my dilemma
And said let me tell ya
The problem with doctors
Is they don't listen to ya
I didn't want my daughter
being a motherless child
At only twenty I was not ready to die
A problem we have
Then he nodded his head
I'll find the solution
On this you can bet
Deep in his heart without any doubt
He knew I wasn't lying
This wasn't anorexia
With an illness so rare
and no time to spare
Into surgery I went
On a hope and a prayer
When the going gets tough
He doesn't back out
He is more than a man
An angel in disguise
For you my family
Who never gave up
If it were not for your love
I'd be a memory by now
For Silen i say
Hip hip hurray
Forever in my heart
Your name stays engraved
