The Teacher
Ring a ding ding
Another school year begins
The children file in
Each face has a name
Each one tells a story
Good morning i say
My name is Kim
Once strangers to me
We have now formed a bond
I don't feel like a teacher
But more like a mom
The year is half over
They now read and write
I have made a difference
In their lives and they in mine
They tell you what they feel
Speak what is on their minds
It is all good and great
Till your the one they pick on
I chuckle as i watch them
Making decisions of who Stays
In the game or who they eliminate
Cooties is the one thing
That is going around i have
To be careful not to get it
Seems to be on the rise
Alas the time has come
I have a broken heart
I realize the birds have hatched
And now it is time to fly
Saying good bye is so very hard
I fight back the tears and
Ring a ding ding
The school year begins
The children file in
Each face has a name
Each one has a story
Good morning i say
My name is Kim
