Age
As I sit here waiting
What is this I wait for
For why I wait, this I know
But it does not mean I like to wait
As I wait I look around
I see others around me, all around
With more coming in, as I wait
The more coming and going, all around
As I look at those around me
I try to picture what they looked like
Without the wrinkles, without the bags
For I see the age that was set upon them
Can you still see the beauty without the mask
Upon my eyes is someone beautiful
But how would they look without the mask
For as young or as old as I am
I choose to not hide behind the mask of make-up
But will we still look just as beautiful
As age sets upon my body, for those things I don’t like
They say with age comes wisdom
But where does our looks come from with age
For I am ready for the age to find me
What is this I wait for
For why I wait, this I know
But it does not mean I like to wait
As I wait I look around
I see others around me, all around
With more coming in, as I wait
The more coming and going, all around
As I look at those around me
I try to picture what they looked like
Without the wrinkles, without the bags
For I see the age that was set upon them
Can you still see the beauty without the mask
Upon my eyes is someone beautiful
But how would they look without the mask
For as young or as old as I am
I choose to not hide behind the mask of make-up
But will we still look just as beautiful
As age sets upon my body, for those things I don’t like
They say with age comes wisdom
But where does our looks come from with age
For I am ready for the age to find me
