A New Dawn
Oh what a breath of fresh air it is to experience a new dawn
Where the scars of yesterday are present, but bring motivation to press on
With brightness from above penetrating, radiating everything
A warming presence that touches the very essence of my being
Could I ever imagine that this day would come?
A blessing of course, sent by the “One and Only”
It was but only yesterday that our hands and feet were bound with self-righteousness, our mouths muzzled by bitterness
A struggle that is etched upon our souls, as we bled in sacrifice
Oh but the struggle has come to end, as we wipe away the agony of the valley
To reach the mountains peak and look upon the horizon of history
What a glorious, omnipotent, dynamic day it is that we can jointly rejoice in victory
A praise that reaches the heavens, echoing loudly from sea to shinning sea
A journey unknown lies ahead, but one clothed in promise and prosperity
In the face of change we embrace unity
Yes we can achieve
Yes we have prevailed
Yes we will press on
As we relish in the awakening of this a new dawn
