Your Rock and Roll
Don’t look at me again… unless you really look
And see the deepest part that has been torn-
Thrown aside into the deepest night
Colder than any December
I can’t stop shivering
I’m confused. What do you really mean?
Since when does “love” mean “sometimes”?
I’m not sure if you know this kind of pain.
I don’t think you realize what part is yours.
It’s all for you.
This is not another rhapsody
This is not another midnight stroll
This is my kingdom come
This is your rock and roll
How do you define beauty?
Your words don’t match your eyes…
I become a ghost at every promise
No reflection found in that stare.
I’m not there.
Leaving again? Taking your exit?
Just one more kiss to confirm-
There is something more you won’t let go
Maybe I was just the drawn out fad
The washed out jeans
This is not another rhapsody
This is not another empty hole
This is my kingdom come
This is your rock and roll
I may just be paranoid-
Lost in my fear of losing you
Maybe I’m crazy-
Hoping everything you say is true
Can you show me what I’m looking for?
Will you counter my doubts?
Open up to me- open up to me- open up to me-
Please?
This is not another rhapsody
This is not another empty hole
This is my kingdom come
This is your rock and roll
This is stronger than ecstasy
I want to make you whole
You might be my kingdom come
Let me be your rock and roll
