YES SHE IS MY MOTHER
YES SHE IS MY MOTHER
Mom is what I call you
But mother is what I wanted you to be
Had a baby at an early age
Because you and dad had other things to worry about
But me
You working nights
And dad working days
Gave me the opportunity
To deal with the streets
And go astray
Never heard the birds in the bees
Never knew these men can be so mean
Never thought about getting a venereal disease
Mental abuse was all you can give
But what can I expect
When your own mother didn’t care
I needed you then
Like I need you now
But all our talk turn into argue
And a whole lot of frowns
You just can’t be positive
No matter how much you fight it
Can’t stand any man I’m with
Because your life was not filled with excitement
Trying to live through me
When you already had your time,
Trying to do everything positive
But you still won’t let me shine
Teaching me independence
Was the only lesson learned?
Now I can’t seem to find a man,
That will love me in return
Cancer almost took you away
But I never went astray
Stood by your side at your time of need
But when I needed you the most
You weren’t there for me
You always taught me not to judge a book by its cover
Or gave me advise about a no good brother
Yearning for your love is all that I wanted
Buying you things no mater what it costed
I’m a woman now and moved away farther
But still realize in my heart
That Yes She Is My Mother!!!
