Wings of Prayer
On the fleet, but tranquil wings of prayer
Our dreams undertake delicate long flight
Hoping, but wondering if they soon might
Find the one who, for eternity, will share
That which we love, treasure, dearly care
Then to my greatly, astonishing surprise
Come wings faint, flap softly into my ear
As your vision soon arrives, does appear
Radiant as springtime’s morning sunrise
Envisages my soul with all knowing eyes
Sensing the strength and prerogative of love
It envelopes us through nary a sensual touch
Words, contemplated, never spoken as such
Transforms wings of prayer, now two doves
To fly places imagined, merely dreamed of
Floating high upon waves of clouds, gliding
As one through the peaceful ups and downs
Wind, the only voice, cacophony of sounds
To interrupt our thoughts, our solitary musing
Of our bond we form only of our own choosing
Our dreams undertake delicate long flight
Hoping, but wondering if they soon might
Find the one who, for eternity, will share
That which we love, treasure, dearly care
Then to my greatly, astonishing surprise
Come wings faint, flap softly into my ear
As your vision soon arrives, does appear
Radiant as springtime’s morning sunrise
Envisages my soul with all knowing eyes
Sensing the strength and prerogative of love
It envelopes us through nary a sensual touch
Words, contemplated, never spoken as such
Transforms wings of prayer, now two doves
To fly places imagined, merely dreamed of
Floating high upon waves of clouds, gliding
As one through the peaceful ups and downs
Wind, the only voice, cacophony of sounds
To interrupt our thoughts, our solitary musing
Of our bond we form only of our own choosing
