What is a Mother?

She's someone who loves
 unconditionally and unselfishly

She sacrifices her own needs
for those she cherishes, loves and cares
for during their times of need

She doesn't ask for anything in return except
for their love, respect and concern

Even when she doesn't receive this
she still gives of herself

Why wouldn't those she loves not
show their love for her

There's many human reasons why
but there's some that the spirit can deny

Love must come from within
and yearns to be brought out for self and to others

If this doesn't happen in life
a person is closed to the happiness from within

The spirit will indeed grow dim
until it has no glow or show of life

A Mother is God's instrument
in the melody of life

Where's your song today
your rhythm of the heart

Will you play it for others
especially your Mother
