Too Late

Too Late

screaming loud, noone hears a sound

darkness falls once again

everyone together, still alone

surrounded by light

reaching out for a friends hand' only grasps air

does anyone know me

can they share my pain

do they understand me

can they say my name

noone knows my burden, have to bear it alone

only wish I could wake from my lonely nightmare

wish I could choose a path that we could walk together

my heart is a black well

don't come too close you might fall in

wishing for a strong arm

wishing for a helping hand

will you notice before it's too late?

someone will hear my dying breath

will it be you?

"...my heart is a black well.." I love this line. I have walked this path before and probably will again. It can be lonely out there. Thanks for sharing your eloquent thoughts.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
