    This is who I am.....

    I am everything you say I am and I love it.

    I am nothing you talk about and I enjoy it.

    You can't put a title on me.

    You can't even give me a name.

    I am a distant figure in the shadows.

    I am the love song singer out your windows.

    I am a beast and a prince.

    People try to hold me down in th water.

    But I'll rise and never falter.

    Nobody knows what I do to live.

    Nobody knows the way I hurt and die inside.

    But in you I will confide,

    there is a turning in the tide.

    I'll only say this once more and never again.

    This is who I am..............

    I like this, but it gives a sense of distance, for sure. A shadowy figure in the distance, a feeling of defenses, not intimacy. The writer wanted to remain enigmatic, completely unknown--they succeeded.
