The useless plea
So many fractured thoughtsOf everything around me
There's the war on tv
Fighting drugs, crime and
The inevitable effects of MTV,
While Obama and all the other
Hopeless nation leaders
Cripe on and on
About the children they are raising
The scenes played out
On games rated 18 and up
Ten year olds facing
The battle of a lifetime
Squared eyes carved from stone
Glaring at the screen
Screaming to their partners
All born after 1994,
But then these people
Watch the the bbc
News for all the world
And force kiddies from their bed
To sit by and see Hussein
His verdict, hanging
Or perhaps losing his head,
How then is the fantasy
Any worse than reality?
So the innocence we want
For the future generation
So that they see peace
Where we see war
Is lost in the teachings
Of the past and present
Shadowing the future
We would like to see
Of a world safe and free
These leaders of men
Destroyers of worlds
Know nothing or life
Or any glimpse of reality
Is they really belive
That knowing what is wrong
Will change anything to come
