The Storm
The waves crashing, beating the impending storm
Each swell rising, pounding, eroding away the serenity
Immense power disturbing the terrain
The storm pushes harder
Raising the tide
Wanting to take cover, but mesmerized by the chaos
Thunder times with the waves crashing and howling wind
You know the danger yet
It’s pulling you in
You can’t escape its beauty yet
You desire the damage after it blows over the horizon
And smacks the shore- it calls you -screaming
For a moment you decide to take cover- too late
It is upon you
Gripped with fear
Pushing back against the wind
Standing in the rain
Lightning giving brief light-guiding the way
Watching the waves unfold
Like a hand reaching out and pulling back
Wondering why you let it grip you
Wondering why you let it take you
Wondering why you didn’t take shelter
Something tells you, stay
Convincing you to stand
Light reaches through
Warmth touches the battered shores
Calming the rugged seas
On the horizon, clouds roll in
Each swell rising, pounding, eroding away the serenity
Immense power disturbing the terrain
The storm pushes harder
Raising the tide
Wanting to take cover, but mesmerized by the chaos
Thunder times with the waves crashing and howling wind
You know the danger yet
It’s pulling you in
You can’t escape its beauty yet
You desire the damage after it blows over the horizon
And smacks the shore- it calls you -screaming
For a moment you decide to take cover- too late
It is upon you
Gripped with fear
Pushing back against the wind
Standing in the rain
Lightning giving brief light-guiding the way
Watching the waves unfold
Like a hand reaching out and pulling back
Wondering why you let it grip you
Wondering why you let it take you
Wondering why you didn’t take shelter
Something tells you, stay
Convincing you to stand
Light reaches through
Warmth touches the battered shores
Calming the rugged seas
On the horizon, clouds roll in
