The Only Love Who Waits

You promised you would be there, forever and a day.
You professed that you would love me, now and always.
Your heart, as I was told, would be mine eternally.
Your life, your very soul ,you would give me freely.
LIES!

Now you and I are never going to be.

Another I have found, she is dear, tender and sweet.
She will be there, I know, loving always.
She will surly love me forever and a day.
Her heart will be mine, she will wait patiently.
When she holds me in her arms, her love will last an eternity.

The one true love, any man will ever meet.
"Death", is her name...
And she is waiting for me.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
