The Lady Bug
Trapped inside a world you see,
Created out of need, you see,
I did not like the man in me,
I was what you need to see
My perfect little bubble,
Protects me from the rubble,
Of pieces from my shovel,
Falling back on me
Lead by life without a sound,
Fancy failures inward bound,
Simple measures never found,
What is wrong with me?
Living with a stranger,
Deserving all the danger,
Diminishing the grandeur,
Of whom I feel is me
My diligence never wanes,
Of looking through the window panes,
That neatly frame the insane,
Version that is me
It wasn't 'til I looked inside,
There was nowhere left to hide,
I saw me with a clearer mind,
Hello me, meet me
Cleaning out the past at last,
Removing excess baggage fast,
Worried that it may not last,
I have to think of me
Now that there is hope in store,
I can open up the door,
And see a life I can't ignore
Of where I want to be
Do you see the ladybug,
Crawling on the oval rug?
Give a very gentle tug,
Fly now, you are free!
