    A Beautiful Love

    I remember she noticed
How I looked at my date,
    "They are in love,"
    She said,
    And we were
    At that moment

    But I have had eyes
    Like that before,
    Yearning,
    Hoping to feel
    Something,
    And still
    Wanting

    True love
    Only happens once,
    I believe
    I want true love
I want to let go, relax
    And lie surrounded
    In warmth and joy
    Kindness and trust
And I want to give back
    The same support
    And tenderness

I want to caress your cheek
    And gently move your hair,
    Look deep into your eyes
    Beyond the white crescents
    And glassy reflection,
    Deep into you,
    Where we become
One heart, one soul, one body
    Speaking with no words,
    Understanding
    Without thinking,
    Lips drawn together,
    Kissing
    Unaware,
    Shallow
    Breathing,
    Chest rising
    And bodies
    Tangled,
    In some beautiful
    Human ballet…
I want to be in love

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
