    THE FIGHT WE HAD

    THE FIGHT WE HAD YESTERDAY
ALOT OF YOUR WORDS HIT HOME
    I THOUGHT TO MYSELF
THAT I WOULD MUCH RATHER BE ALONE

    WE CAN'T TAKE BACK
    THE WORDS THAT WE SAID
BUT WHEN YOU SPOKE THE WORDS YOU DID
I REALLY WISH I WAS DEAD!!

    YOU BROKE MY HEART
    AND YOU REALIZED THAT
AND I KNOW THE THINGS SAID
    WE CAN'T TAKE BACK.

    BUT GOING THRU THAT
    MAKES US STRONGER
I STILL LOVE YOU AND IT'S PROBABLY BEEN LONGER.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
