Starting the Day
Today seemed to start as any other wouldBut no sunlight was pouring through the windows as it should
After making my morning coffee to drink
Rinsing off last nights dishes I began to think
I seem to remember loud bangs and flashes
But of this I'm not for sure
Pouring my cup of java into my favorite cup
Seems to be mechanical and not really what I want
I wander down the hall trying to remember who I am
That's when the dizzynious starts to set in
Sitting in the hallway up against the wall
Voices I can hear talking softly not saying much at all
The wheels of gurney squeak loudly and harsh
As they head towards me taking someone from the house
I try to cry out and ask what is going on
But no sound comes and they walk through me and are gone
I do hear some man saying this hall is rather chilly
I'm glad they left the coffee pot on
