starting over

what do you do when you finally start over

i cried for a while, realizing i finally took a stand
i don't need you anymore i'll hold my own hand

you never cared, not truly anyway
i don't need you anymore i'll find my own way

i loved you once upon a time
i don't need you anymore i'll be just fine

you clouded my thoughts with doubt
i don't need you anymore i'm turning my life around

i'll smell the flowers and take time to live
attention to my children i now can give

you're not a man just so you know
maybe you'll grow up now that i made you go

things are looking up now
to live happy i'll finally learn how

when you think of me i hope you cry
realizing all i did to try

i loved you and you didn't care
now i just look at you with a blank stare

no more emotion and no more tears
i'll love myself and push through my fears

you taught me something though
and with that i can grow

i didn't need you to make me who i am
i can do that on my own, i don't need you to make me happy
i can do that alone.......

all the tears i cried
knowing how hard i tried

i'm okay now, i'm starting over

Hell yeah!!!.Good for you. Liberating isn't it? One of the most difficult that we face in life is the many faces of love. I am glad that even though your experience was awful you were able to learn from it. A such powerful and inspiring write..You have a new fan

thank you so much

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
