    SHINING DOWN

The best part of the night,
     Is the break of dawn.
     When a glimmer of light
     Starts shining down.
     I see that last star,
     And I think of you,
     Shining down,
     Twinkling through.
     Letting us know,
     You're still around.
     Watching over us,
     As only you can do.
     Shining bright until,
     Dawn turns into daylight.
     Just to come back again,
     With the next night.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
