Sadness Grows Upon This Man
My mind was dreary as a shade;
Eerie darkening I could feel.
As cold and bleakness covered me,
Thus did the dimness spread like plague
o'er these frigid thoughts so real.
I washed my mind of golden life,
And faded into hell's dismay.
Wickedness was all around me --
Scourging as the mouth of Satan.
Woe, my friends come no more my way.
And so I'll go and leave this place;
Go far away - forevermore.
My body scattered 'cross the lea.
Poetry will be my lullaby,
And I will pass this way no more.
