A couple of short ones to ponder
A fallen Tree
I saw a tree within the woods
With purple leaves and rings
Laid out 'neath brush and thorns;
'Twas so sad for me to see -
this fallen tree.
Gifts we Have
See the gold within the blue,
And the silver in the clouds;
Cry not for me, nor for you --
For the gifts we have, will do.
The Summer Sun
The doves were winging on the breeze,
As cherubs sang in unison.
Smiles blessed the pastel skies…
While we welcomed the summer sun.
Kindness can be Found
Look not to clouds of gray
to take your blues away,
But to the winds, within the dale --
For kindness there prevails.
Love Has Come to Stay
Coldness was my friend, and blue my color ruled.
This is not the plume of yester hour, nor remnants
of my laurels parted;
Blending days of warming, 'tween the shadows gray
Heart of mine be still…for love has come to stay,
Here within me guarded.
Time
How the days do slippeth away -
Minutes, uncaring, trickling,
like the tiniest beads of dew -
dripping, so slowly from blooms.
So goes my life in hours of sand.
Oh, how I wish ---
I wish, they would stay…
Morning Sun
Came rays of Sol upon the lea
as saintly as a peacock's splay;
Shown out across the fleur de lis
in a sparkling jewelry display -
I bowed to greet this wondrous day
and sent the bleakness far away.
