Out Of Place
Today I awoke and I felt out of place.
As I looked in the mirrow I saw a different face,
and then I noticed I wasn't home either.
I had to sit down focus and take a breather.
I looked around and noticed I was in a funeral home,
and with further inspection I realized I wasn't alone.
There were tons of flowers, friends, and family,
but I thought it strange that none of them noticed me.
There was a beautiful casket laid out in pearl white,
and it seemed to be sitting right in the perfect light.
There was a woman standing there and she was crying,
and i'm thinking to myself I dont remember anyone dying.
She was asking the lord why'd you have to take him?
she sai nhe took the wrong child, he must have been mistaken.
As she turns towards me with tears in her eyes,
I looked in her face and was filled with surprise!
I realized it was my mother standing before me.
My brother rushed to her side as she went down on one knee.
I looked at the casket and said: "who could this be?"
I get up slowly as the priest begins the eulogy,
and I walk up to the casket sitting in front of me.
As I look inside it's no longer a mystery,
I see a beam of light and the angels come for me.
