    Nothing is ever lost

    Nothing is ever lost,
    So why weigh the cost,
When death weighs down upon us,
    Why make a fuss,
    Is there not cool water,
    To help endure the slaughter,
    Will we not be restored,
On the day of the Lord,
    If this you don’t believe,
What moment of life do you retrieve,
    What difference will it make,
    If the afterlife is fake,
For while the company of the dead must be better,
A nice long sleep will leave you unfettered,
    The world would be boring,
    Full of constant snoring,
    If all remained forever,
    Together.
How could you love someone with great passion,
If their always there in the same fashion,
It is insanity to wish to bring one back,
To a world full of lack,
Let them go on their way,
Even if behind you must stay,
    For there may be another,
Who needs you as a brother.
    One you will never see,
    With vision clouded completely,
Fate changes things in the end,
A new perspective it will send.

I like this, like the idea behind it and the emotions I can identify with. I would say though that like your comment on my first oem I posted, it has a few clunky spots. PS I just put up a new one and would be interested in your opinion -- think it's better than the first one I threw up here...

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
