NO STRINGS
No strings attached was the deal, and we both thought it’d be so simple
My heart is strong, I can handle this, and it won’t even make a dimple
We’ll laugh and play and have some fun, we won’t dare get attached
But as time passed and feelings grew we realized what our lives lacked
The plan was to be very subtle with meetings being very few
Sometimes going days without speaking, oh sure, this we can do
We will walk around and put on a front as if everything’s the same
But that was before all the of the emotion before all of the feelings came
We’ll pretend that we are only friends, of those you are my best
I think of you first each day and much more often than the rest
We will have to continue this charade until the time is right
Until that fateful day has come when we can slip off into the night
How wonderful life will be again how deeply we will live
Because I know to each other, we both have so much to give
We started looking to the future we started making plans
To have gone so fast it seems so slow, it’s the waiting I can hardly stand
I can not wait until that night when together we will lay
Instead of it being just hours, my whole life you will stay
For now you have become my world you are my everything
Finally my heart is free; it’s been cut loose, there are no strings
