My Eyes Have Been Opened
I sit in my classroom,
The room is silent as the clock ticks.
There’s a faint sound in the background,
Quiet sounds of rain filled drips.
Then everything is tuned out,
Me in my mind, with out a doubt.
I stare into space as I think about thoughts,
The room spins ‘round,
The clock ticks and tocks.
So chaotic and wild,
The room shows my past.
The things that haunt me,
Things that have past.
The teases, the taunts,
And words outspokenly blunt.
Everything stops,
My eyes open wider than wide.
The room stands still and I realize the lies.
All this time it’s like the world spun around me,
Going in circles day after day,
And here I am still with nothing to say?
Like a big BOOM which opened my mind,
I realize now I have nothing to hide.
The room is silent as the clock ticks.
There’s a faint sound in the background,
Quiet sounds of rain filled drips.
Then everything is tuned out,
Me in my mind, with out a doubt.
I stare into space as I think about thoughts,
The room spins ‘round,
The clock ticks and tocks.
So chaotic and wild,
The room shows my past.
The things that haunt me,
Things that have past.
The teases, the taunts,
And words outspokenly blunt.
Everything stops,
My eyes open wider than wide.
The room stands still and I realize the lies.
All this time it’s like the world spun around me,
Going in circles day after day,
And here I am still with nothing to say?
Like a big BOOM which opened my mind,
I realize now I have nothing to hide.
